Shirai has found four factors out of his scale; \"acceptance of the past\", \"fullness of the present\", \"goal orientation\", and \"hope\". We conducted exploratory factor analysis on our scale and found five factors; \"estrangement of the past\", \"weariness of the present\", \"fullness of the present\", \"future goal\", and \"hope\". Concurrent validity of the scale was examined by the correlation with four scales (PRASS, ECR, TLS, LETS-2), all of which measure the types of close relationships, and MEIS (Multidimensional Ego Identity Scale). The correlations showed meaningful patterns for concurrent validity. In addition, the scores of each factor were significantly different in those groups of four attachment styles.
