A questionnaire survey about feelings of Interpersonal isolation, real and ideal friendships, family functions, and individual subjective feelings of happiness was distributed to 213 university students (78 men and 135 women). The results of a covariance structure analysis showed that having favorable real friendships negatively impacted feelings of interpersonal isolation and that a sense of interpersonal isolation negatively impacted subjective feelings of happiness.
