| 内容記述 | When the skeletal muscle was atrophied or hypertrophied， myosin heavy chain (MyHC) composition is also changed. The purpose of this study is to make clear the presence of the relation between fibers cross sectional area and MyHC composition. The single fibers were disected from superficial portion of lateral gastrocnemius muscles in fifteen-week old female Fischer-344 rats. The fiber type was determined by MyHC composition. The mean cross sectional area of II b fibers was larger than that of hybrid (II b + d) fibers. However， the single fibers cross sectional area of II b and hybrid fibers was distributed far and wide. These results indicated that there is no relation between fiber cross sectional area and MyHC composition. | |||||
