| 内容記述 | The same thing that is said of time can be said of motivation; we know what it is when we talk about it, but when asked, we may find ourselves hard-put to offer an explanation. The aim of this paper is to focus on the genesis of motivation, the factors that influence its character, and how it affects people and learning in general, and Second Language Learning (SLL) in particular. With those considerations in mind, this exploration of motivational factors is based on a replication of a study that seems to highlight the influence that anxiety has on motivation in SLL. Based on such research, I consequently develop methods that seem applicable and discuss how to take advantage of the principles of motivation in the teaching situation, particularly in the areas of oral and written production. The issues presented herein represent an on-going study and inquiry, hence best viewed as a work in progress, rather than any attempt at a definitive and comprehensive explication | |||||
