We examined the reliability and validity of the scale for love-addiction tendency of youth, which was originally created by Ifuku et al., 2006. The scale used in this study was modified to include some more items that deal with the dependent tendency sufficiently focusing on sexual intercourse and sexual behavior along with the ones shown in prior literatures existing in Japan, Europe and the United States dealing with the love-addiction tendency. The average age of the subjects studied was 20.54 years (SD=2.52), consisting of 290 adolescent males and females (129 and 161 respectively). As a result of the factor analysis, four factors were extracted; "mental support", "lover priority", "possessive feeling", and "sex addiction". Further examination was made to determine its reliability and validity by assessing the internal consistency reliabilities using a coefficient. All three validities of contents, associated standards, and concept construction were confirmed.
